Leonardo Azevedo holds a degree and MSc. in Geological Engineering in (2007, 2009) both from U. Aveiro and concluded his Ph.D. in 2013 with the development of novel geostatistical methodologies for geophysical data integration into subsurface Earth models (Técnico, U. Lisboa). Leonardo did his habilitation in Georesources in 2021 (Instituto Superior Técnico, U. Lisboa). Currently, his main research interests are related to the development of spatial data science methods to model natural phenomena, geostatistical geophysical inversion and uncertainty assessment in natural systems. In 2022, Leonardo was awarded with the EAGE’s Arie van Weelden Award and the SEG’s J. Clarence Karcher Award – Society for Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
